Retrieval Practice

One of my research interests is retrieval practice. My goal is to better understand the mechanisms behind retrieval's effectiveness and explore how it can be applied to improve learning outcomes across different situations. Some of my ongoing projects are examining the role of engagement in the literature on retrieval practice.

Multimedia Learning

I'm interested in how people learn from visual and auditory media, including graphs, textbooks, online videos, and in-person lectures. My current work involves using secondary tasks to assess the cognitive impact of multimedia principles in a laboratory setting, with the goal of better understanding how these principles shape learning.

Cognitive Load

Another interest of mine is cognitive load, specifically exploring how we can modify educational materials to optimize learning efficiency and retention. I am particularly focused on identifying strategies that reduce unnecessary cognitive demands and enhance the effectiveness of instructional content.
